About the role
Adyen is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join its development team in Amsterdam, focused on building, deploying, and optimizing production-ready data products. Working across areas like Optimise, Protect, Identity, and Regulatory Reporting, the successful candidate will sit at the intersection of algorithms, mathematics, and software engineering. Daily responsibilities involve designing and monitoring both batch and real-time machine learning algorithms. This includes online learning algorithms for dynamic decision optimization, clustering algorithms for customer segmentation, supervised and semi-supervised methods for risk pattern inference, representation learning for behavioral prediction, and real-time anomaly detection using time-series modeling. Additionally, the role entails developing orchestrated pipelines for model training and collaborating with MLOps for system automation and monitoring. The mathematical and quantitative methodologies require a strong foundation in statistical inference, machine learning for predictive modeling, causal inference, and experimental design (such as rigorous A/B testing). The modern technology stack utilized in this role includes Python, PySpark, Trino SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, LightGBM, Pandas, MLFlow, and Airflow.
