About the role
Adyen is seeking a Machine Learning Scientist to join its production-focused team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will work at the intersection of algorithms, mathematics, and software engineering to design and deploy end-to-end machine learning solutions. Collaborating across teams such as Optimise, Protect, Identity, and Regulatory Reporting, you will research, train, and monitor batch or real-time ML algorithms. Key responsibilities include developing online learning algorithms for real-time decisions, designing clustering algorithms for customer grouping, applying supervised and semi-supervised methods for risk pattern inference, and constructing representation learning models. Additionally, the scientist will build Anti-Money Laundering systems and real-time anomaly detection pipelines using advanced time-series modeling. The candidate must possess strong quantitative foundations, particularly in statistical inference, machine learning for predictive modeling, and causal inference. The modern technology stack utilized in this role includes PySpark, Trino SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, LightGBM, Pandas, MLFlow, and Airflow. In addition to quantitative modeling, the role involves building robust data pipelines, defining KPIs, and performing rigorous A/B testing and statistical validation to assess model performance.
