About the role

Optiver is seeking a Graduate Quantitative Researcher to join their Quantitative Research & Machine Learning team in Amsterdam for a 2027 start. New joiners will participate in the Global Optiver Academy, providing a robust foundation in trading, system architecture, and risk management. In this role, you will own the research pipeline end-to-end, which includes framing financial questions, analyzing petabytes of market, order-flow, and unstructured data, and deploying models directly to production. Daily responsibilities involve constructing models for pricing, forecasting, and signal discovery, as well as utilizing live production feedback to refine trading assumptions. Mathematically, the role leverages concepts of probability, calculus, linear algebra, statistical modeling, machine learning, and deep learning to shorten the loop from hypothesis to empirical evidence. The technical stack predominantly relies on Python, with additional support for languages such as C++, C, or Java. Candidates should possess a strong academic background in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Econometrics, or Computer Science.
