Market Risk Specialist

This Market Risk Specialist role at Essent Energy Markets involves acting as a key business partner for analyzing and mitigating market risks associated with long-term contracts and various trading strategies. The individual will contribute to the energy transition by monitoring portfolio risks alongside energy buyers and assessing new products and contracts through scenario analysis and "what-if" thinking. Key responsibilities include initiating and safeguarding position limits across power, gas, and green certificates, as well as contributing to the continuous development of quantitative risk premium models to ensure accurate market risk pricing. The specialist will also be responsible for preparing monthly risk reports for E.ON Market Risk and the Essent Board, providing detailed insights into underlying market movements. The role requires efficient data extraction and processing from IT systems for reporting and analysis, particularly for limit monitoring and position overviews. Strong analytical skills and experience with MS Excel, SQL, PowerBI, and Python are essential.
